Do you love music? SURE YOU DO! Do you have great taste in music? AWW YEAH! Do you make some kickass Mix CD's, but no one is able to appreciate your greatness but you? WELL FORGET THAT, 'CAUSE HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO SHINE LIKE THE SUN, BABY!! Here is your opportunity to tell your friends that your taste in music is PRIZE winning!
"But Christina, how do I do this??"
IT'S EASY, CITIZEN! Simply create a STELLAR mix CD of songs that you think ROCK! Something that gets you up and jammin', songs that you want to get up to dance and make your shake your groove thang! Don't hold back, let your freak flag fly and show off ALL your wide range of tastes to us!

GREAT QUESTION! There will be first, second, and third place grand prize winners as well as 3 honorable mentions! The prizes are as follows:
1st Place: $15 Starbucks Giftcard, $20 Shopping Etc. Giftcard (good at any Shopping Etc Mall -like Northridge Mall- or online), and a full color art commission of whatever you'd like!
2nd Place: $10 Starbucks Giftcard, $10 Best Buy Giftcard, and a full color art commission of whatever you'd like (limit three subjects).
3rd Place: $5 Starbucks Giftcard, $5 Best Buy Giftcard, and a full color art commission of whatever you'd like (limit two subjects).
Honorable Mentions (3): Each honorable mention will get a sketch commission of whatever they'd like (limit two subjects).

OF COURSE THERE ARE, FREAK! WHAT KIND OF SOCIETY HAS NO RULES? AND WHAT KIND OF CONTEST MAKER PERSON WOULD I BE IF I DIDN’T FOLLOW SOCIETY'S STANDARDS OF RULE-MAKING?? HMMM?! Durn crazy hippies tryin' to make my contest rule-free…
-Official Rules-
- There are no limits to the number of songs your CD's can have, but each CD must contain at least 15 songs.
- CD's may have no repeating artists or songs. (Covered versions of the same song are ok.)
- Themes are not necessary on each CD, but are welcomed. (ex: Spooky Songs)
- Each CD MUST have a name. (ie, Ventriloquism For Dummies, The Beastly Mix, Over The Moon, etc..) Names such as Mix CD 1 are UNACCEPTABLE and will be disqualified.
- CD's do not need to be actual written or burned CD's, and contestants do not even actually need to own the song in their music library. Simply write up a playlist starting with Artist, a hyphen, and song title! (ex: Colbie Caillat- Bubbly)
- Cover Art is not necessary but highly encouraged, as is any other form of creativity you'd like to throw in there. Anything extra you do is a total bonus point, open your mind and heart and let your creativity shine! Don’t be afraid to show us what you've got!
- Multiple entries per participant are allowed and encouraged.
- Home recorded songs are acceptable forms of music, however they must be provided in .mp3 or .mp4 format. The more original the better!
- All songs must be easy to find on the internet (Youtube, Pandora, iTunes, etc.) and if they are more difficult to find or if they are a home recording by yourself, please link directly to a place where it can be heard and easily downloaded so that it may be burned to a physical CD when it is received. Acceptable recorded music files are .mp3 and .mp4. File types such as .flac and .wav are UNACCEPTABLE and will not be considered unless you can provide an easy source to find and download the song.

The official Judges are myself (Christina, aka Gopher) and my road-trip partner (Robyn, aka Robyn). The CD's will all be burned and used on our upcoming cross-country road trip from Washington, through California, and across the U.S. to Massachussets! Our musical muses are of a very broad range, and we love almost any music from ska to indy! We're both not very big fans or rap or scream-o, and don't really care for most country, but it can be nice if it's the right song. We also love up-beat music!
